IRCC make changes to Application time period

Today, June 29, 2021, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has rolled back the changes which were made to the Express Entry program back at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic in March 2020.

IRCC reverted the changes made to Express Entry Program back in March 2020

Moving forward Express Entry Candidate will again have only 60 days to complete and submit their applications once they receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA).

At the beginning of the pandemic, IRCC lengthen the time provided to an applicant after they have received the ITA from 60 days to 90 days to provide enough time to collect all the related documents which were taking longer due to various closures and shut-down caused by the global pandemic.

But as the vaccine roll-out progressing on a rapid pace and the number of COVID-19 cases on a decline, IRCC making these changes to the Express Entry program to can be seen as a sign that we will be finally getting out of the claws of this pandemic which had been holding everything back for more than an year now.

These changes will not affect those applicants who have already received the ITA under the express entry program and they will still have 90 days to complete and submit their application.
